Camera Shops

January 12, 2009 | Gadgets & Reviews | 708 views

For those who wanted to buy camera and photography accessories,  I have listed some reliable stores below.

Since I’m very far from Manila, and camera shops are very scarce or have only a few items, it had been difficult to grab some items I need. I’m glad to have these list, which since 2005, I just place order my through a call.  I buy almost all my gears from Wilson of Avenue Photo, a very nice fellow.

Most of these shops are located at Quiapo, Metro Manila, near the Quiapo Church. Just be aware that if you physically go there, leave your valuables behind.. e.g. jewelry, since the place is somewhat crowded with plenty of sidewalk vendors, church goers, and  occassionally (unfortunately) someone who want to get your valuables.  That’s why I opt to just look around for gadgets and gears, then later just place my order through phone and let the store deliver it to you via a courier. A much safer option.

Avenue Photo Supply, Hidalgo St. 733-2761, 733-5474, 734-3307

Aperture Trading Corp. (in Banawe) 732-8991, 415-8454, 741-9743

Watson Photo Shop 733-7697

Henry’s Photo Supply 733-7723, 734-6198

    Hi Leonard,

I find you photos really interesting. I’m just wondering if there is a shop in Gen. San. where I can rent a canon lens (or canon mount) even just for a day. I just want to shoot some good landscapes of the area. I’m looking for 10-20mm or equivalent Wide Angle lens.

    Thanks

  12. Leonard Pe says:

@Jemer – Hi Jemer, sorry to say, no one is making lens rental a business here yet in Gensan. Almost everybody are just hobbyist, some making a living for a bit out of photography, you may just opt to borrow if you have a friend having that lens. Currently, the nearest store selling camera stuff is in Davao at NCCC mall

‘nard, meron kang contact numbers of that store in NCCC Mall Davao? thanks
